Alumni Awards Criteria

In 1974, Dean Ed Legates recognized the first College Distinguished Alumnus, Mr. George M. Wood -- a Camden farmer, former Legislator and member of the UNC Board of Governors. Since then, the College has added 42 names to the plaque in Patterson Hall.

The CALS Alumni and Friends Society initiated the Outstanding Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni, Outstanding Faculty/Staff and Outstanding Friend (Partners) Award in 2001. These awards recognize the excellence and achievement of our former students and our partners, faculty and staff -- both in their field of expertise and in their service to their community.  More than one award in each category
may be presented.
